The brutal killing of a Kashmiri Pandit elected Sarpanch, Ajay Pandita Bharti, by the terrorists in district Anantnag in the Kashmir valley, 10 days ago, has given a new dimension to the outrage against the grave human rights violations in context of the Pandits in Kashmir. This is today the Tenth day of the slain Sarpanch whose trecherous murder has ignited the inferno of a varied nature globally.

While the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in its decision on a complaint of Genocide of Pandits, in June 1999, said, "....that acts akin to Genocide have been committed against the Kashmiri Pandits", it also cautioned, "......that there may be a genocide type design in the minds and utterances of the militants and terrorists against the Pandits in Kashmir....". The terror merchants in the valley proved NHRC correct, every day, yet the successive governments failed to take cognisance of the NHRC's 'prophecy' delivered 21 years ago in a jam-packed Commission's Court room. Governments love to be loved by all and sundry, despite their failures and successes, deceit and candidness, insincerity and honesty, imbecilty and good work. However, people make their choice on the basis of record.

Ever since the forced mass exodus of the minority Pandit community of Kashmir, their genocide continued even after their worst patch of history of 1989-90. The left-over Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs were targeted on several occasions by the terrorists. Sarthal (Doda) in 1993, Bhaderwah in 1995, Sangrampura, Budgam in 1997, Gool in 1997, Wandhama in 1998, Telwani, Anantnag in 2000, Brariangan, Anantnag in 2000, Pethibag, Anantnag in 2000, Chittisinghpura in 2000, Mehjoornagar, Srinagar in 2001, Nadimarg in 2003 and now Lukbhawan, Anantnag in 2020 are glaring examples of organised massacres of the Pandits and Kashmiri Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir. Besides this, the migrant labour community members from various parts of the country, Nepal Hindu migrants, Amarnath pilgrims and Hindu tourists from various places were mercilessly killed by different terror outfits in the valley continuously over the last two decades. This madness comprising dance of death and music of destruction continues unabated in the Kashmir valley even on date.

Unfortunately, some perverted minds take sadistic pleasure out of the "crimes against humanity", the brazen postings and comments post Bharti's killing by some people on social media is an example in this context. It is a reflection of the speech and character of mind that have been indoctrinated heavily over the last three decades by the fundamentalist elements in Kashmir. It is also a measure failure of the society in the valley in the given circumstances. The doctrine of 'Protection of minorities by the majority community' has miserably been defeated by the men with the illegal gun supplied by Pakistan.

The killing of Ajay Pandita Bharti created an unprecedented outrage globally. The Kashmiri Pandits, worldwide, are virtually on fire on this bad and cruel incident. A person who was elected by the members of the Muslim majority community, who worked for them in his constituency for the last several years, who transformed the shape of the villages by his sincere efforts in the valley and who belonged to the Congress Party was killed because he was a Hindu. The off repeated argument that "the BJP-RSS men at work in the valley won't be tolerated" has also been torn apart by killing the elected Sarpanch of the Congress Party, usually considered as a friend of the Muslim society. Being a non-Muslim in the valley is considered as persona non grata and the saner voices get drowned in the din, unfortunately. This time there has not also been a great condemnation of the incident as well, in the valley, suggesting surrender and compromise.

The Kashmiri Pandits this time got an overwhelming support from the Hindu fraternity around the world. The 1.25 Billion Hindus of the world held a global campaign against the Islamic Terrorism on Sunday, 14th June 2020 from Auckland, Newzealand to Oakland, USA. The campaign was conducted keeping in view the guidelines of WHO and the respective governments spread over from East to West and from North to South in context of the Covid19 pendemic.

General estimates, analysis and data suggest that the 24-hour campaign was held in 100 cities of the world wherever Hindus reside. Hindus in the Asian zone particularly in India showed a lot of interest and contributed to the campaign that had a very prominent hashtag as the guiding lighthouse on the social media, ie #HinduUnitedAgainstTerror.

People in all age groups and strata of society across all castes and classes participated to make it known that enough is enough. The message that It is a great worry that the minority Hindu Kashmiri Pandit community continues to face genocide and ethnic cleansing at the hands of the terror merchants in the valley of Kashmir went viral on the social media. The other message that the Kashmiri Pandit Hindus are the Indegenous people of Kashmir (living in exile for the last 30 years as driven out by the fundamentalist-terrorist-separatist combine) who are longing to resettle in the Kashmir valley after their forced mass exodus in 1990, are being denied their right to do so also clicked. It was emphasized that they have been denied their rights to their land by these Islamic Terrorists who have reiterated their intent to do so even after the ghastly killings, every now and then.

United Nations, Government of India and the NHRC were forwarded a Tweet, in this connection, that covered the protest outside the residence of the slain Martyr Ajay Pandita Bharti at Jammu-India held on 14 June 2020. This is sufficient to give one an idea of the outrage of the inhuman act of the crusade against Hindu minorities in the Union Territory of J&K. The Hashtag Tweets on 14th June 2020 crossed a whopping million on the day of reckoning on Google Counts, biggest and largest ever global campaign on a single day to highlight a humanitarian cause.

Kashmiri Pandits being scattered around the world after their banishment and extermination have created friends everywhere, be it India or outside India. It was proved on the last Sunday, without a doubt. Sympathies for them poured at the right time. Their cause is being seen as a humanitarian and just cause and the governments are supposed to take bigger measures to quench their thirst.

It is time that the Kashmir's oldest hereditary indigenous community is restored its human, civil, fundamental, humanitarian and political rights in Kashmir that belonged to its members and to which they belong to. The Indian nation-state is now overdue to liquidate its obligations towards the Pandit community longing for a decision that provides justice to them in continuation of the NHRC's historic judgement that acts akin to Genocide were committed against the Kashmiri Pandits.
